David Suchet Reads the Gospel of Mark

I love listening to the Bible read aloud, especially the Gospel of Mark. Over the last couple of years I have listened to Max McLean read the Gospel (ESV) over at biblegateway.com. But recently, my friend @bibhistctxt sent me a link to David Suchet, a British actor perhaps best known for playing the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, read the Gospel at St. Paul’s Cathedral back in 2017. Suchet produced a complete audio Bible that can be heard at biblegateway.com but the video I was sent is a live reading. There is something about his reading that is powerful and mesmerizing. It feels so casual and yet the force of Mark’s words both in their terseness and vividness brings the text alive. I enjoyed it and I hope you do too.
