Some Videos You Should Watch

I don’t get to watch a ton of YouTube videos, preferring instead to consume media via reading or podcasts. But I try to carve out time to catch up on the handful of channels I’m subscribed to. So, here are a few videos I’ve enjoyed that I think you will enjoy too.

  • “New Papyrus Discovered Containing Sayings of Jesus,” Bible Unboxed (9.6.23). I’ve promoted contend by Lachlan from Bible Unboxed before so both of my readers should be somewhat familiar. This video is a short one, covering the discovery of a papyrus fragment that contains what appear to be sayings of Jesus. Pretty interesting stuff!
  • “Does Abiathar in Mark Contradict the Book of Samuel? A response to Inspiring Philosophy,” Hatsoffhistory (8.11.23). Hatsoff is another channel I’ve mentioned here on the blog. Last month he put out a really good video covering Mark 2:23-28 and the reference to Abiathar the high priest. The occasion for the video is one put out by Michael Jones of Inspiring Philosophy.
  • “How (not) to read the Talmud: Reviewing Richard Carrier’s ‘On the Historicity of Jesus,’ part 1, Kipp Davis, (7.25.23). Last but not least, Kipp Davis has been responding to various problems with particular material found in Richard Carrier’s book on the historical Jesus. A lot of the discussion is about topics on which Davis is actually an expert so it’s truly helpful. There are three videos in Davis’s response but you can find the first one here.
