“I’m Going to See My Mom”

A little while back I was listening to an episode of the podcast This American Life and it featured some stories by Etgar Keret about his late mother. Some of them are light and funny while others are heavy and moving. One in particular stood out to me entitled “The First Angel You See.” In it, Keret recounts how his mother came home drunk one evening and told him a story she had never told him before. I don’t want to spoil it for you. In fact, I tried to write a synopsis of the story a few times but it’s hard to write with tears swelling up in your eyes. Just listen to it. I hope you’ll be as moved by it as I was.
