Meh, the more I hear from her the less I think of her. There’s better books about Gnosticism written since King’s. (And, of course, King is “problematic” anyway.)
As for what Gnosticism is? Wiki, in its entry, notes in the first paragraph:
>>It is not a singular, homogeneous tradition or religion, but an umbrella term used by modern scholars to describe different groups and beliefs that shared certain characteristics.<<
So, RFW’s not saying anything new.
