Apologists are fond of using the Dead Sea Scrolls to argue for the general textual trustworthiness of the Hebrew Bible. But more often than not, their arguments are selective and they pick out those data points that confirm their belief in the Bible and ignore those that work against it. Identifying the problems with apologetic arguments that use the Scrolls is difficult if you don’t know the first thing about them. Luckily, Dr. Kipp Davis, an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls, is working on a series that will serve as an introduction to them as well as a means by which apologists can be answered. My own familiarity with the Scrolls is poor and so I can’t wait for Davis to start pumping out these videos. Here is the trailer that he published about a week or so ago. Enjoy!
